Job summary

Lifepoint Health's Maria Parham Health in North Carolina is seeking a Phlebotomist for full-time, nonexempt work in an acute hospital setting. You will collect and process blood specimens, ensuring accuracy and patient care, while maintaining equipment and supporting blood drives as needed.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, completed phlebotomy training, and ASCP or NHA certification. BLS must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

The Phlebotomist collects and processes blood specimens for laboratory testing in an acute hospital setting, ensuring accuracy, safety, and high‑quality patient care. Responsibilities include obtaining blood samples using age‑appropriate techniques, labeling and delivering specimens for analysis, and maintaining equipment and supplies to support daily operations. The Phlebotomist may also assist with organizing and conducting blood drives, including donor interviews and screening.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should have

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Completed an approved nationally accredited training course or program in Phlebotomy required
  • Certification from ASCP or NHA is required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within 30 days of hire
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
