The Senior Phlebotomist plays a critical role in supporting patient care by collecting, processing, and preparing blood and other specimens for laboratory testing in an acute care hospital setting. This position performs venipuncture and specimen collection using age‑appropriate techniques, ensures accurate patient identification, and maintains specimen integrity throughout the collection and processing cycle. In addition to direct patient care responsibilities, the Senior Phlebotomist serves as a resource for troubleshooting phlebotomy‑related issues, training and mentoring new team members, and assisting with staffing and scheduling activities. The role collaborates closely with laboratory and clinical teams to deliver high‑quality diagnostic services while maintaining compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards. Candidates must possess strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
