Job summary

Maria Parham Health, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our hospital team. You will collect and process blood specimens, ensure accurate labeling, and support daily lab operations in an acute care setting.

Ideal candidates will hold a current phlebotomy credential, HS diploma, and BLS certification, with a commitment to safety and patient-centered care across our health network.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of an approved nationally accredited Phlebotomy training course is required.
  • Certification from ASCP or NHA is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • The Phlebotomist collects and processes blood specimens for laboratory testing in an acute hospital setting, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Labels and delivers specimens for analysis and maintains equipment and supplies to support daily operations.
  • Assists with organizing and conducting blood drives, including donor interviews and screening.

Job Title: Phlebotomist

How You'll Contribute

The Phlebotomist collects and processes blood specimens for laboratory testing in an acute hospital setting, ensuring accuracy, safety, and high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include obtaining blood samples using age‑appropriate techniques, labeling and delivering specimens for analysis, and maintaining equipment and supplies to support daily operations. The Phlebotomist may also assist with organizing and conducting blood drives, including donor interviews and screening.

What We're Looking For
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Completed an approved nationally accredited training course or program in Phlebotomy required
  • Certification from ASCP or NHA is required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within 30 days of hire
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
