Job summary

Primary Care Partners is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform blood collection, including pediatric samples, and to maintain a clean, safe laboratory area. You will explain procedures to patients, collect specimens, and verify labels.

You should have a High School Diploma, strong phone and customer-service skills, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

  • Explain blood draw procedures to patients and answer questions about the process.
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients, including pediatric cases and finger-stick collections as ordered.
  • Collect urine, swabs and other samples for laboratory testing; maintain sanitary work areas.
  • Verify patient information and label all samples properly.
  • Provide personal assistance and care to others as needed; keep areas clean and organized.

Perform finger-stick collections on pediatric patients when ordered. Collect urine, mucus or swabs for laboratory testing. Maintain a pleasant working environment for all staff.Duties/Responsibilities:Explain blood draw procedures to patients and answer any questions about the process.Help calm nervous or frightened patients and help them remain calm during the procedure.Gather medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials, tubes, etc.Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areas.Verify patient information and label all samples properly.Perform phlebotomy successfully with minimal or no complications.Collect other laboratory samples such as urine, nasal swabs, etc.Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.Work well in a fast-paced setting.Keep work area and patient waiting area clean, organized and presentable.Help problem solve patient issues.Be organized.Be detail oriented.Experience:Must have phone skills and pleasant phone voice; customer service oriented; some computer skills; able to work independently and multi-task; perform well under pressure; able to work at a fast pace.Education Requirements:High School DiplomaWorking Conditions:Walking, sitting, bending, and standing with some light liftingThis position must be willing to work days, evenings, weekends and holidaysRisk Level:Medium to High ExposureExperience:Must have phone skills and pleasant phone voice; customer service oriented; some computer skills; able to work independently and multi-task; perform well under pressure; able to work at a fast pace.Education Requirements:High School Diploma
