Job summary

Duly Health and Care is hiring a Phlebotomist I in Joliet. The role supports blood collection from adults and children, ensuring accurate labeling and patient experience. Under supervision, you will prepare specimens, process samples, and assist with lab operations across multiple sites.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and phlebotomy certification or eligibility is preferred. Travel to other sites may be required as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • National Phlebotomy Certification or eligible to sit for certification exam preferred.
  • Moderate knowledge of medical terminology, excellent verbal and written communication skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy on adult and pediatric patients via venipuncture or finger stick using aseptic technique.
  • Receive patients professionally and courteously, utilizing AIDET and ensuring proper labeling.
  • Monitor collection supply inventory and order supplies as necessary.
  • Produce patient paperwork and prepare specimens for processing and transport.
  • Maintain a clean patient and working environment and assist with related duties as needed.
  • Travel to other sites may be required.

The Phlebotomist I presents a professional, courteous and respectful demeanor when engaging with patients, co-workers, other staff and general public.Depending on Practice Site Requirements, not all duties listed may be performed. However, it is expected MOST duties will be performed. Travel to other sites may be required.Perform phlebotomy on adult and pediatric patients by vascular access (venipuncture) or capillary collection (finger stick) using aseptic protocols, accurate patient identification and proper labeling procedures.Monitor phone and voice mail messages, as necessaryMonitor collection supply inventory and order supplies as necessaryReceive patients professionally and courteously utilizing AIDET and positive patient experience toolsPerform specimen centrifugation, processing, prepping for reference lab transportation, storage and retrievalUtilize computer skills to accurately access patient/testing information, as necessaryProduce patient demographic sheet and prepare additional paperwork to accompany specimens, as necessaryMaintain a clean patient and working environment.Perform other assigned duties, as needed.EducationHigh School graduate or equivalent requiredNational Phlebotomy Certification or qualified to sit for phlebotomy certification exam preferredPrior experience as a Phlebotomist OR an equivalent combination of graduation from a certified phlebotomy school coupled with work experience in a healthcare field preferred.Moderate knowledge of medical terminology, excellent verbal and written communication skills preferred.The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $17.65-26.50, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives.
