Job description

Pride Health is hiring Phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility-based Glastonbury CT 06033. This is a 4-month assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Location: Glastonbury CT 06033

Duration: 3+ months Contract (Possibilities of extension)/Contract to hire

Multiple Shifts Available: 7am - 4pm Eastern Standard

Pay rate: $ 17 - 21/ hr (Based on years of experience)

  • Job Details: The Patient Services Representative (PSR I) represent the face of our company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions.
  • PSR I draw quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
  • The PSR I have direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner.
  • The PSR I will demonstrate Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center or as business needs dictate.
  • Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
  • Job Responsibilities: Perform safe, accurate venipuncture and capillary blood draws, including pediatric and geriatric collections
  • Conduct clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing following established procedures
  • Prepare, label, verify, and process specimens for laboratory testing
  • Verify patient demographics, initials, and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct labeling
  • Clearly explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort, trust, and confidence
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • Perform daily duties accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and confidentiality of patient information

  • Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • Work Experience: 1 year of phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
  • 1+ years Customer service in a preferred retail or service environment.
