Phlebotomist – We Train

Our ideal phlebotomist is patient, reliable, and committed to keeping our donors comfortable and happy.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
2. Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while maintaining donor confidentiality.
3. Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
4. Monitor donor and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality.
5. Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines.
6. Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.

Occupational Demands

Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potential infectious organisms. Exposure to electrical equipment, extreme cold (below 32°F), and the need for personal protective equipment such as eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold gear. The role involves sitting or standing for entire shifts, bending, twisting, and frequent hand and foot movements. Light lifting of up to 15 lbs. regularly, with a maximum of 50 lbs. infrequently. Must have good hearing, color perception, and vision, and the ability to follow instructions and perform complex tasks under variable conditions.
