Job summary

Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) seeks adjunct faculty to teach up to 12 credits in fall and spring and up to 8 credits during summer sessions. Classes may be face-to-face, remote, or online.

Adjuncts are hired from a pool with no guaranteed continued employment. Qualified candidates hold a Master’s degree or higher in the teaching field (or a Master’s with 18 graduate hours) from a regionally accredited institution and must reside in the DMV area (DC/VA/MD).

Responsibilities

• Teach specific classes in the designated discipline.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA and the VCCS .
• Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization.
