Job summary

NOVA seeks an Adjunct Faculty member in Computer Science to teach courses at our Alexandria location and across the DMV area. The position is part-time and varies with class schedules.

Adjunct faculty teach up to 12 credits in fall/spring and up to 8 credits in summer; there is no guaranteed employment. Teaching may be face-to-face, remote, or online, depending on student needs and staffing. Residency in the DMV area is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science or a master’s with at least 18 graduate hours in CS from a regionally accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Teach designated CS courses as scheduled.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess progress.
• Adhere to NOVA and VCCS policies and procedures.
• Maintain current professional competence in CS.
