Job description

THE OPPORTUNITY

Every year, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tulsa provides support for families whose children are receiving critical medical care. Our mission is simple but powerful: to remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.

As RMHC of Tulsa continues to grow its impact, we are seeking a relationship-driven Philanthropy Officer to help deepen and expand charitable support from individuals, corporations, community organizations, and foundations. This is an opportunity for a development professional who loves connecting people to purpose and is energized by building authentic relationships that result in meaningful investment.

You will partner closely with the President/CEO to strengthen a culture of philanthropy, manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, increase annual philanthropic revenue, and help ensure that families facing a child’s medical crisis receive the support they need when they need it most.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being in the community, meeting donors face-to-face, sharing stories of impact, and creating meaningful opportunities for engagement and giving.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of individual donors, major gift prospects, grants, and community supporters.
  • Develop and execute cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies that increase annual and long-term philanthropic support.
  • Conduct donor meetings, tours, presentations, and engagement opportunities throughout the Tulsa community.
  • Partner with the President/CEO on major gift strategy and donor solicitations.
  • Prepare proposals, gift agreements, donor reports, and stewardship communications.
Major Gifts, Grants & Annual Giving
  • Build a pipeline of qualified prospects for major gifts, grants, and planned gifts.
  • Identify opportunities to increase unrestricted operational support.
  • Develop personalized engagement plans that move donors from interest to investment.
  • Support annual giving campaigns and donor retention initiatives.
Corporate & Community Partnerships
  • Strengthen relationships with corporate partners and community organizations.
  • Secure sponsorships and philanthropic support that align with organizational priorities.
  • Represent RMHC of Tulsa at community events, networking opportunities, and civic engagements.
  • Identify new sources of philanthropic investment across the region.
Events & Stewardship
  • Support the fundraising strategy, sponsorship development, and donor stewardship associated with RMHC of Tulsa events.
  • Ensure donors receive timely acknowledgment, recognition, and impact reporting.
  • Develop meaningful stewardship experiences that inspire continued engagement.
Strategy & Operations
  • Maintain accurate donor records and activity tracking within the CRM database.
  • Monitor fundraising performance and key metrics.
  • Contribute to annual development planning and revenue forecasting.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to create a donor-centered fundraising culture.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in fundraising, business development, relationship management, consultative sales, financial services, nonprofit development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success building long-term relationships that lead to meaningful commitments or investments.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
  • Confidence in asking for financial support and having donor-centered philanthropic conversations.
  • Experience using donor databases, CRMs, or comparable relationship-management systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

We welcome candidates from nonprofit and nontraditional backgrounds alike. Successful major gift fundraising often begins with the same skills found in consultative sales, banking, wealth management, business development, and client relationship roles: listening well, building trust, and helping people invest in something meaningful.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Within your first year, you will:

  • Build strong relationships with key donors, prospects, and community stakeholders.
  • Establish a strategic donor engagement plan for your portfolio.
  • Increase meaningful donor interactions and stewardship touchpoints.
  • Help grow philanthropic revenue through individual giving, major gifts, sponsorships, and community partnerships.
  • Strengthen donor retention and deepen supporter engagement with our mission.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits.
