Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a Pheresis Technician in Peoria, AZ to prepare donors and equipment for pheresis, monitor procedures, and ensure accurate data entry. The role requires attention to safety, SOP compliance, and effective communication with staff.

The position involves operating autopheresis equipment, recording incidents on a PDA, and potentially cross-training in other areas to support the center’s needs. Prior healthcare exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents during pheresis using the PDA, including machine alerts, alarms, volume variances and adverse events.
• Link equipment and supplies used in the pheresis process to the donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as per SOPs.
• Understand policies related to hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE and OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at organization’s discretion.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
