Job summary

CSL in Chattanooga, TN seeks an Apheresis Technician to prepare donors and equipment for pheresis and to operate the autopheresis machine. The role includes monitoring during the procedure, responding to alarms, and safely disconnecting donors at the end of the process.

The technician will maintain data in the donor information system per SOPs and adhere to HSE/OSHA guidelines. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 months of healthcare-related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents and donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
