Figma invites a PhD Data Science Intern to join our Data Science team, collaborating across product, engineering, design, marketing, sales, and operations to drive decisions with data. You’ll own a data science project from framing the question to translating findings into insights that influence product strategy.

You will work on experiments, metrics, causal inference or ML, and share actionable results with cross‑functional partners.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a PhD in a quantitative field with independent research.
• Strong knowledge of statistics, ML, or causal inference.
• Experience using Python or R and SQL for analysis.

Responsibilities

• Turn ambiguous questions into well-defined data problems.
• Analyze data to uncover insights and suggest actions.
• Design and evaluate experiments and models.
• Communicate assumptions and tradeoffs clearly.
• Own internship project end-to-end with potential publication.
