Job summary

Figma is seeking an intern on our Data Science team to tackle real challenges and deliver impact. You’ll collaborate with product, engineering, design, and marketing partners to learn, experiment, and grow your skills while translating data into actionable recommendations.

Based in San Francisco or New York, you’ll work on end-to-end projects, build scalable data tools, and contribute to forecasting and modeling efforts that inform product decisions and growth strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience using SQL and a scripting language such as Python or R to clean, explore, and analyze data.
• Strong foundation in statistics and quantitative reasoning.
• Ability to frame questions, validate analyses, and tie findings to product decisions.
• Curiosity, initiative and collaborative communication with technical and non-technical partners.

Responsibilities

• Own a scoped project end to end—from framing the question with Product, Engineering, Design, and Data Science partners through delivering the work—with support from a manager and mentor.
• Analyze user behavior, product performance, or business data to uncover insights and translate them into recommendations for business decisions.
• Build and improve data pipelines and tools that make product data more scalable and accessible.
• Focus areas may include analytics, experimentation, or infrastructure based on your interests and business needs.
