Valley Health seeks a Pharmacy Education Specialist to lead staff development and department orientation for all new hires. You will train technicians, collaborate with pharmacists, and establish competencies for ongoing clinical education.

The role requires strong preceptor abilities, extensive institutional pharmacy knowledge, and the ability to document and measure education across online platforms. This position supports the pharmacy team in improving patient care through education.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years hospital pharmacy experience.
• 1 year pharmacy technology, application experience or project management.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in institutional pharmacy practice.
• Content expert for training and employing technicians.
• Knowledge and skills to develop adult education programs required.
• Understanding of Performance Improvement, High Reliability and outcomes management required.
• Competency in WORD and Excel, and solid computer skills required.
• Exceptional sterile compounding technique experience required.

Aufgaben

• Participates in staff development and oversees department orientation for all new employees.
• Responsible for onboarding and initial orientation of all staff.
• Directly responsible for training and orientation of all technicians.
• Works with the technician supervisor, bar code technician, point of care technician and the IV room clinical staff pharmacists to develop, implement, document, and measure ongoing education for all technicians, intermediate technicians and advance technicians.
• Establishes and maintains initial and yearly competencies for department staff.
• Communicates effectively with all members of the health care team.
• Ensures training materials are compliant with USP 795 and other standards; assists in documentation of education of staff pharmacists.
• Able to develop training and document in online educational platforms.
