Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (Non-Certified) to support pharmacists in prescription processing, insurance billing, and daily pharmacy operations. You will handle customer interactions with a friendly approach, gather patient information, and assist with labeling and dispensing under supervision.

The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail setting. Vaccination duties may be included where legally permitted, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented and eager to learn in a fast-paced retail pharmacy.
• Ability to perform arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in line with HIPAA and store policies.
• Counsel and advise customers professionally and interact with patients and healthcare providers.
• Support pharmacists in dispensing and prescription processing under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service at the counter.
• Accept new prescriptions and process refills per pharmacist direction.
• Greet customers, verify patient information, and collect necessary data.
• Assist pharmacists with preparing drug products for dispensing.
• Prepare labels and prescriptions for mailing or pickup.
• Submit insurance claims and troubleshoot third-party billing.
• File prescriptions after dispensing and report any errors.
• Stock pharmacy supplies and log invoices as needed.
• Administer vaccines where allowed by law and certified.
• Maintain cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
• Adhere to all pharmacy regulations and Hy-Vee policies.
• Work with teammates to ensure excellent customer experience.
