Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Part-time Pharmacy Technician to prepare medications (unit dose and IV compounds) for pharmacist review and delivery to nursing units. The role includes refilling Pyxis units, stocking, inventory, and answering department queries.

Shift is day, rotating 8-hour blocks. Applicants must have a high school diploma, Iowa State registration (or trainee status), and national certification within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Registration with the State of Iowa as a pharmacy technician prior to starting (or technician trainee if awaiting certification).
• National certification through an NCCA-accredited program; must have exam sitting within 9 months of hire and certification within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to prepare medication orders, including sterile and non-sterile compounds, and process physician orders to ensure timely, accurate delivery.
• Ensure compliance with Pharmacy, Pharmacy Automation, Billing, and Inventory standards (USP 795/797).
• Provide courteous, timely service to patients, visitors, and colleagues.

Education
