Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc. is seeking a Non-Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in prescription processing, insurance billing, inventory, and customer service.

This hourly role offers hands-on learning toward national certification and a path in retail pharmacy. You will greet customers, prepare prescriptions under supervision, submit insurance claims, stock supplies, maintain patient information under HIPAA, and help keep the pharmacy area clean and compliant with state and federal

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Working toward licensed technician certification through a certified national program required.
• Previous experience as a pharmacy clerk preferred.
• Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines, as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers by name.
• Handle non-pharmacist inquiries with professional judgment.
• Accept new prescriptions and telephoned refills under supervision.
• Contact physicians to request or take refill prescriptions as needed.
• Gather patient information to prepare prescriptions.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing drug products for dispensing.
