As a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, you’ll be a key part of our collaborative team. Job Description
- Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
- Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification or Licensing Preferred: Pharmacy Certification
- Lifting Requirement: Up to 25 pounds
- Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age
Job Responsibilities
- Welcome patients warmly and acknowledge them with compassion and a smile at all pharmacy entry points.
- Model excellent patient care by respecting, engaging, and meeting or exceeding patient needs, including processing orders in person and by phone, directing patients to products and merchandise, and referring questions concerning prescriptions and over-the-counter medicine to the pharmacist.
- Maintain a neat and clean work environment to meet company and government requirements.
- Assist team members with tasks to ensure department efficiency.
- Use the pharmacy computer to complete necessary actions to maximize efficiency and provide optimal patient care, including searching for patient profiles, determining fill and pick-up dates, managing prescriptions sent to Central Fill, quoting cash prices, checking medication inventory, and entering invoices.
- Help implement action plans to improve outcomes using knowledge of service and business metrics.
- Assist in executing all company initiatives and programs.
- Complete required training and exams.
- Follow all company, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations, including HIPAA and pseudoephedrine sales.
- Finalize sales using the cash register according to established procedures and policies.
- Accurately transcribe prescription data to generate customer labels.
- Maintain proper inventory levels by ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating drugs and supplies per company policy.
- Answer phone calls politely and promptly, ensuring accurate information exchange and customer satisfaction.
- Resolve customer questions and concerns effectively through communication with customers, management, and support staff.
- File written prescriptions daily.
