Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis Critical Care Medicine Fellowship is hiring a Pharmacy Technician Specialist I to assist pharmacists with preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications. The technician reports to the supervising pharmacist responsible for patient care and safety.

The role may involve more complex distribution tasks and specialized responsibilities within the department, requiring a proactive, detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience required.
• Other: Successfully complete pharmacy department orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications.
• Be accountable to the supervising pharmacist who is legally responsible for patient care and safety.
• Engage in more complex medication distribution processes and/or function in specialized areas as needed.
