Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications under the supervision of the licensed pharmacist. This role emphasizes safety, adherence to federal and Missouri state laws, and patient care.

Location is Temporarily based at Mercy Old Tesson (relocating before year-end). Full time (40 hrs). Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) and Missouri registration are required or in process.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application by first day of work.
• Experience: Tech I – 1 year preferred; Tech II – 1 year required; Tech III – 3 years required.
• Certifications: CPhT by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Tech I

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
• Other: Successfully complete pharmacy department orientation.

Tech II

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience required; 2 years preferred.
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Tech III

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 3-year relevant pharmacy experience required
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
