Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Pharmacy Technician Specialist who rotates through all applicable work assignments under the supervision of a Pharmacist and the Pharmacy Technician Group Leader. You will assist with preparing, formulating and packaging medications and pharmaceutical supplies, and help with dispensing and processing payments.

The role requires Rhode Island licensure, and a National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or at least one year of licensed pharmacy technician

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; college preferred.
• Current Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician license.
• CPhT certification or 1 year experience; sit for CPhT within 6 months and obtain within 12 months.
• Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office; comfortable with pharmacy systems.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful service to patients and staff.
• Input and retrieve data in pharmacy systems; process payments.
• Inform patients on costs, availability, and refill processes.
• Protect patient confidentiality and ensure data accuracy.
• Assist with resolving questions; refer drug interactions to the pharmacist.
• Coordinate with case management when needed and promote services.
• Rotate to all assignments as required; manage inventory and dispensing.
• Support quality assurance and medication safety initiatives.
