Brown University Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Specialist to support pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, handling patient data and payments, and ensuring accurate billing. You will rotate through pharmacy areas with emphasis on customer service and confidentiality.

The role requires RI tech licensure, CPhT certification or progress toward it, and solid computer and data-entry skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; 1–2 years of college preferred.
• Current Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician licensure.
• National Certification (CPhT) or equivalent experience; plan to sit for CPhT within 6–12 months.
• Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office, email and calendar apps.
• Comfort using internet web applications and multiple pharmacy system applications.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; both verbal and written.

Responsabilités

• Assist patients and staff with prescription processing and payments.
• Enter patient data into pharmacy systems to ensure accurate charging and insurance billing.
• Inform patients about wait times and drug availability, including refill processes.
• Protect patient confidentiality during data collection for filling prescriptions.
• Coordinate quality assurance activities and maintain orderly medication storage.
• Rotate to all applicable tasks and shifts based on business needs and competency.
• Support pharmacist with dispensing, compounding, repackaging, inventory, and sales.
