Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
• Maintains Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician licensure.
• CPhT certification or 1 year licensed experience; sit for exam within 6 months and obtain within 12 months.
• Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office; comfortable with pharmacy system applications.
• Strong customer service presence and verbal/written communication.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy in a high-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Know and act according to Brown University Health Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
• Provide friendly customer service; inform on costs, wait times and refill processes.
• Protect confidentiality; input patient data into pharmacy systems and billings.
• Assist patients; refer questions to the pharmacist on duty.
• Coordinate delivery of prescriptions and medical equipment as needed.
• Rotate to all assignments and shifts as required.
• Manage inventory, purchasing, compounding, repackaging, dispensing and sales.
• Prepare, formulate and package medications under supervision.
• Coordinate quality assurance activities; ensure proper storage conditions.
• Participate in safety initiatives and report medication errors.
• Maintain professionalism.
