Job summary

SpecialtyRx, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Shift Supervisor to oversee daily operations during the assigned shift in a LTC pharmacy environment.

You will supervise technicians, coordinate with Floor Leads, and assist Pharmacist in Charge to ensure accurate, on-time processing of prescriptions. The ideal candidate will be calm, positive, and organized under pressure, with prior supervisory experience and LTC pharmacy exposure.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio Pharmacy Technician license required.
• PTCB certification preferred.
• Previous pharmacy experience required; LTC/pharmacy experience preferred.
• Supervisory or lead technician experience preferred.
• Data entry experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Technician Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily pharmacy operations during the assigned shift and ensuring all prescription orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. This position supervises pharmacy technicians, coordinates workflow with Floor Leads and pharmacy leadership, resolves operational issues, and assists the Floor Manager and Pharmacist in Charge as needed.

The Shift Supervisor plays an important role in keeping the pharmacy running smoothly by ensuring staffing and workflow are aligned with daily operational demands. The ideal candidate remainscalm, positive, organized, and solution-focused, especially during busy or high-volume periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in Charge and Floor Manager with daily pharmacy operations and departmental tasks.
• Oversee daily workflow to ensure prescription orders, packaging, filling, compounding, and deliveries are completed accurately and on time, including STAT orders.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure productivity and workflow expectations are met.
• Direct staff to appropriate tasks based on workload, priorities, and operational needs.
• Allocate staffing resources effectively to maintain workflow efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
• Monitor pharmacy operations throughout the shift and proactively identify and resolve workflow issues.
• Coordinate with Floor Leads to maintain consistent workflow and communicate changing priorities.
• Provide guidance, support, and assistance to pharmacy staff to promote teamwork and productivity.
• Maintain a positive and professional work environment, particularly during high-volume or stressful situations.
• Ensure floor stock is restocked in a timely manner and expired medications are removed according to established procedures.
• Rotate medication stock and maintain appropriate inventory controls.
• Assist with the processing, recycling, and disposal of returned medications in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform packaging, filling, shipping, and other pharmacy technician duties as needed, including prepacking floor bulk prescriptions.
• Monitor and reinforce compliance with pharmacy policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Address attendance, dress code, and other departmental expectations in coordination with pharmacy leadership.
• Communicate important operational updates between shifts and with pharmacy leadership to ensure continuity.
• Assist the Floor Manager and Pharmacist in Charge with operational issues, staff needs, and special projects as necessary.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Pharmacist in Charge or pharmacy leadership.

Qualifications
