Responsibilities
- Develop competency in servicing pharmacy customers, including obtaining and recording initial demographic information, data entry into the pharmacy system, insurance verification, label generation, and cashiering.
- Gain proficiency in dispensing medications, utilizing information systems, technology, and automation for dispensing, storage, and clerical duties.
- Develop skills in insurance and third-party billing, including data entry, obtaining prior authorizations, maintaining files, investigating errors, and handling various insurance coverages and prescription issues.
- Support clinical needs such as DIR fees.
- If applicable, promote diabetic footwear sales, assist customers with fitting, submit insurance billing (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial), and maintain documentation.
- If applicable, develop cross-location pharmacy workflow competency.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and departmental procedures, including controlled substances and USP standards.
- Provide age-appropriate patient care, understanding growth and development principles, and interpreting patient data to meet age-specific needs.
Minimum Requirements
- Licensure (IL only): State of Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician or Student, with certification (CPhT) issued by PTCB or ExCPT within two years of hire.
- For patient-facing roles, certifications in Immunization, BLS, and non-vaccine injectables may be required.
- High School diploma.
- No prior experience required.

- Basic computer proficiency.
- Diabetic shoe fitting certification (if applicable) obtained through on-the-job training.
- Life support training may be required.
Physical & Working Conditions
- Ability to stand for long periods, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach shoulder height.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 35 lbs.
- Deliver medications via preferred patient modes.
- Travel between pharmacy locations as needed.
