Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Assist faculty during lab sessions with student demonstrations, skill check‑offs, and supervision of hands‑on activities.
  • Provide guidance to students in technical skills: prescription filling, compounding (non‑sterile/sterile), inventory management, labeling and packaging medications.
  • Reinforce classroom instruction with real‑world techniques and safety practices.
  • Prepare lab materials and equipment before each session.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and functionality of lab areas.
  • Ensure proper storage and disposal of expired or used materials.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the Program Director.
  • Follow institutional policies and pharmacy regulations related to lab operations.
  • Ensure students adhere to safety protocols.
  • Maintain documentation for lab activities as required by accreditation or institutional standards.

Job Overview

The Part‑Time Lab Assistant supports the Pharmacy Technician Program by assisting instructors in laboratory sessions, maintaining lab equipment and supplies, and ensuring a safe, clean, and productive learning environment for students.
