Job summary

Mercy Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (Tech I/II/III) to assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications. The role reports to a supervising pharmacist and requires adherence to federal, state, and local regulations for patient safety.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, active Missouri Pharmacy Technician registration (or willingness to register), FBI background check fingerprints, and orientation completion.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Actively registered or willing to register with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.
• 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience preferred.
• Successfully complete pharmacy department orientation.
• CPhT certification by PTCB preferred for Tech II/III.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications.
• Follow applicable standards and laws for patient care and safety.
• Report to supervising pharmacist and support daily operations in the pharmacy.

The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications and are accountable to the supervising pharmacist who is legally responsible for the care and safety of the patients served by the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician follows applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations for the care and safety of the customers and patients served.

Tech I:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
• Other: Successfully complete pharmacy department orientation.

Tech II:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience required; 2 years preferred.
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Tech III:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 3-year relevant pharmacy experience required
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
