Job summary

Mercy Hospital Washington is seeking Pharmacy Technicians at multiple levels (Tech I–Tech III) to assist pharmacists with preparation, compounding, and dispensing of medications. Schedule: PRN at Mercy Hospital Washington in Missouri, with licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy and FBI background check requirements.

Tech II requires CPhT certification and 1–2 years experience; Tech III requires 3 years experience and CPhT.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalence required.
• MO Board of Pharmacy registration (or willingness to apply) by first day of work, FBI background check fingerprints.
• 3-year relevant pharmacy experience required for Tech III; 1-year for Tech II (2 years preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications.
• Follow federal, state and local laws and regulations for patient safety.
• Support pharmacy operations and maintain accurate records.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalence exam.

Willing to submit MO Board of Pharmacy registration by first day of work

The Pharmacy Technician I follows applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations for the care and safety of the customers and patients served.

Tech I:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
• Other: Successfully complete pharmacy department orientation.

Tech II:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience required; 2 years preferred.
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Tech III:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 3-year relevant pharmacy experience required
