Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician at Mercy Old Tesson, temporarily based there with relocation planned by year-end. Full-time (40 hrs) with responsibilities to assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications under supervision.

The Tech II/III levels require Missouri licensure, FBI background fingerprinting, and 1–3 years of experience; a CPhT is preferred. Mercy offers comprehensive benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Active Missouri Board of Pharmacy registration as a Pharmacy Technician or willingness to submit by first day of work (including FBI fingerprinting).
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred; 1–3 years of related experience varies by Tech level.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications under supervision.
• Follow applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations for patient safety.
• Support pharmacy operations and maintain accurate records per policy.

The Pharmacy Technician II assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications and are accountable to the supervising pharmacist who is legally responsible for the care and safety of the patients served by the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Tech II follows applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations for the care and safety of the customers and patients served.

Location: Temporarily based at Mercy Old Tesson (relocating before year-end)

Full time (40 hrs)

The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications and are accountable to the supervising pharmacist who is legally responsible for the care and safety of the patients served by the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician follows applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations for the care and safety of the customers and patients served.

Qualifications:

Tech I:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
• Other: Successfully complete pharmacy department orientation.

Tech II:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience required; 2 years preferred.
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Tech III:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 3-year relevant pharmacy experience required
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
