Job Summary:

With moderate oversight, the Pharmacy Technician I will assist in supporting clinical investigational drug trials by accurately dispensing medication and performing cross-functional duties as required.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Monitor pharmacy activities daily to ensure adherence to study protocols and dispensing procedures.
2. Prepare and dispense investigational drugs according to IRB-approved protocols under supervision.
3. Assist in preparing blinded study products.
4. Ensure proper storage of investigational drugs per protocol and FDA guidelines.
5. Monitor storage area temperatures and alert management of excursions.
6. Assist with ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies.
7. Rotate stock to use before expiration dates.
8. Monitor expiration dates and supply levels.
9. Prepare medication for dispensing to inpatients enrolled in study protocols.
10. Support adherence to best practices, FDA regulations, ICH, GCP, SOPs, site practices, protocols, and company policies.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skills:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum of 1 year related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of pharmacy practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of medications and medical supplies.
• Ability to maintain quality control standards.
• Calm and effective response in emergency situations.
• Ability to interpret and apply guidelines and procedures.

Working Conditions:

• Indoor clinical environment.
• Physical requirements include sitting, typing, standing, walking.
• Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
• Reporting to work as scheduled is essential.
