Asbury Communities, Inc. through Albright Pharmacy on the Asbury Methodist Village campus in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - PRN to support medication preparation, dispensing, and record-keeping for residents.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least 1 year of pharmacy experience, and a national/state Pharmacy Technician Certification, with a Maryland driver’s license. You’ll work under the pharmacist, cover rotating shifts and weekends, including travel between

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience.
• Completion of a national and/or state recognized Pharmacy Technician Certification program.
• Prior experience as a pharmacy technician/data entry technician with good working knowledge of reviewing and entering prescription orders.
• Proficient computer skills necessary for data entry, reporting, including documentation and billing. Familiarity with PrimeCare/QS1 Pharmacy operations system and exposure to Pharmacy Automation.
• Must possess a valid Maryland driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a pharmacist, and in accordance with State and Federal Laws, fills prescriptions for and assists with daily fills as directed.
• Effectively operates the Pharmacy computer system to ensure timely and accurate prescription documentation and billing.
• Orders supplies and prescription medications under the direction of the Pharmacist.
• Maintains pharmacy Pyxis system, restocks outdates, restocks meds daily.
• Understands Facility and Third-party billing guidelines.
• Compliant with infection control procedures and environmental safety protocol within a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility.
• Travels between facilities efficiently during scheduled hours as assigned. Makes emergency deliveries as necessary.
• Works varying shifts on a standard rotating schedule, including weekends.
• Advises the Pharmacy Manager of any potential or actual problem that may jeopardize Albright Care Services.

Job Description

• Pharmacy technicians assist the pharmacist in the preparation and distribution of medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient and pharmacy records in a manner consistent with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as pharmacy policies and procedures.

• - Proficient computer skills necessary for data entry, reporting, including documentation and billing. - - An ideal candidate would have experience with PrimeCare/QS1 Pharmacy operations system and have some exposure to Pharmacy Automation (ie. TCGRx)
• - Must possess a valid Maryland driver's license and acceptable driving record.
