Job summary

Albright Pharmacy, located on the Asbury Methodist Village campus in Gaithersburg, MD, is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Returns Technician. The role processes return medications for credit or destruction under pharmacist supervision and supports daily tasks to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.

Starting compensation is $19.00 per hour. The ideal candidate has pharmacy technician or data entry experience, strong computer skills, and a Maryland license or certification.

Qualifications

• Proficient computer skills for data entry, reporting, documentation and billing.

Responsibilities

• Process return medications from facilities for credit and/or destruction under pharmacist supervision.
• Operate the Pharmacy computer system to ensure timely and accurate returns documentation.
• Coordinate pickup of medications for destruction from third party vendors or other regulatory means.
• Maintain inventory and properly credit returned products back into inventory; assist with semi-annual inventory.

The Pharmacy Returns Technician - PT is part of the team that allowsAsbury residents to enjoy convenient prescription pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter medications right on the campus where they reside. The role assists with maintaining compliance for both the dispensing pharmacy and the long-term care facilities that we service through processing return medications for credit and/or destruction. Job Description

• Under the supervision of a pharmacist, and in accordance with State and Federal Laws, processes return medications from the facilities we service for credit and/or destructionand assists with other dailytasks as directed.
• Effectively operates the Pharmacy computer system to ensure timely and accurate returnsdocumentation and processing.
• Under the supervision of a pharmacist, coordinate pickup of medications for destruction from third party vendors and/or other regulatory means
• Accuratelymaintains inventory, returns appropriately credited products back into the pharmacy inventory,and assists with semi-annualpharmacy physical inventory.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or its equivalent.
• Prior experience as a pharmacy technician/data entry technician with good working knowledge of reviewing and entering prescription orders preferred.
• Proficient computer skills necessary for data entry, reporting, including documentation and billing. An ideal candidate would have experience with PrimeCare/QS1 Pharmacy operations system and have some exposure to Pharmacy Automation (i.e. TCGRx, Pyxis, etc.)
• Experience handling and documenting returned medical products from serviced facility back to the pharmacy
• Must possess a valid Maryland Board of Pharmacy technician license and/or national pharmacy technician certification
• Preferrable to possess a valid Marylanddriver’s license and acceptable driving record.
