Job summary

Albright Pharmacy Services is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the on-campus pharmacy at Albright Methodist Village in Gaithersburg, MD. The role involves assisting the pharmacist with preparing and distributing medications for residents on site.

Responsibilities include inventory management, prescription entry, and adherence to all applicable laws and policies. The position requires a minimum of one year in a pharmacy setting and a current technician certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience.
• Completion of a nationally and/or state recognized Pharmacy Technician Certification program.
• Prior experience as a pharmacy technician/data entry technician with good working knowledge of reviewing and entering prescription orders preferred.
• Proficient computer skills for data entry, reporting, including documentation and billing; experience with PrimeCare/QS1 or TCGRx is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a pharmacist, fills prescriptions and assists with daily fills.
• Operates the pharmacy computer system for documentation and billing.
• Orders supplies and prescription medications under the Pharmacist's direction.
• Maintains Pyxis system and restocks meds daily and outdates.
• Adheres to facility and third-party billing guidelines; follows infection control protocols in LTC.
• Travels between facilities and handles emergency deliveries as needed.
• Works rotating shifts, including weekends, to support LTC operations.
• Alerts Pharmacy Manager to potential problems that could affect service.
