Corewell Health Gerber Hospital in Fremont, MI is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists with medication preparation, packaging and delivery to patient care areas. You will triage calls, handle complex areas under supervision, and maintain accurate inventory and sterile processes.

The role emphasizes adherence to licensing, certification and competency requirements, with flexible shifts and a focus on patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred Associate's degree.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• MI Licensure: Pharmacist Intern or Pharmacy Technician licensure requirements per state law.
• Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and controlled substances handling.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a Pharmacist, provide technical assistance and prepare medications.
• Deliver medications and supplies to patient care areas and triage team inquiries.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and comply with licensing/competency requirements.
• Operate medication automation systems and handle satellites/sterile products as needed.
• Assist with unit dose packaging and inventory management.

Scope of Work Under the direction of a Pharmacist, provides technical assistance, processing and preparing medications and supplies. Works with multiple medication automation systems. Delivers medications and supplies to patient care areas. Triages phone calls and messages from multidisciplinary team members. Able to work in complex pharmacy areas (satellites, sterile product compounding, controlled substance handling, inventory management).

• Prepares supplies / medication, including complex sterile formulations under the direction of a Pharmacist. May prepare hazardous or biologic products when properly trained and competencies are passed.
• Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging.
• Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas under direct supervision of a pharmacist per federal and state law.
• Delivers pharmacy prepared medications, controlled substances and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications. Completes all Corewell Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.

• Hospital experience Preferred
• LIC-Pharmacist Intern - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
• LIC-Pharmacy Technician Temp - STATE_MI State of Michigan Must obtain full licensure w/in 90 days of hire. Upon Hire required And
• LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATE_MI State of Michigan 90 Days required
• CRT-Pharmacy Technician, Certified (CPHT) - PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Excludes - LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required Or
• CRT-Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) - NHA National Healthcareer Association Excludes - LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required
• Ideal candidate is a Pharmacy Technician possessing both Full License and National Certification, such as PTCB or ExCPT

Inpatient experience would be a plus

• All Pharmacy Technicians may apply
• Pharmacy Hours are usually between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday to Friday
• Between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
• Shifts are usually 8.5 Hrs.
