Medical City Denton is seeking a Pharmacy Technician PRN to assist pharmacists with order review, IV preparation, and medication delivery in a busy hospital setting. The role operates under pharmacist supervision and the Director of Pharmacy, with mixed day, evening, and weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• 1+ year hospital pharmacy experience including IV admixtures.
• Registered in Texas as a Pharmacy Technician.
• ACPE IV certification required; PTCB certification preferred.
• Pharmacy Technician License; High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to type and perform dose calculations.
• Adherence to SOPs for hazardous drugs to avoid risk.

Responsibilities

• Review and entry of medication orders under supervision.
• Prepare, deliver, and charge medications and IVs.
• Restock ADC cabinets and par medications/IVs; assist purchasing.
• Repackaging; training of new personnel; perform related duties.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and the general direction of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for non-judgmental aspects of order review and entry; preparation, delivery, and charging of medication/IV's; restocking of ADC cabinets and par medications/IV's; purchasing; repackaging; training of new personnel and performance of related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1+ year(s) hospital pharmacy experience including preparation of IV admixtures.
• Registered in Texas as a Pharmacy Technician
• Annual certification by PTCB preferred
• IV Therapy; ACPE IV certification required
• (PharmTech) Pharmacy Technician License
• High School Graduate / GED
• Must be able to type and perform dose calculations.
• Understands that failure to follow established SOP's for hazardous drugs could potentially lead to risk of adverse effects which may include but not limited to skin rashes, reproductive effects, chronic effects, and cancer.
