Job summary

Medical City Denton is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for full-time evening shifts with rotating weekends. The role involves under direct supervision of a pharmacist handling order review, IV preparation, medication delivery, restocking, and related duties in a hospital environment.

Requirements include 1+ year of hospital pharmacy experience, Texas registration as a Pharmacy Technician, PTCB certification preferred, IV therapy certification (ACPE) required, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician in Texas.
• PTCB certification preferred.
• IV Therapy certification required (ACPE).
• Pharmacy Tech license held where applicable (PharmTech).
• High School Diploma or GED and ability to perform dose calculations.

Responsibilities

• Review and enter orders under pharmacist supervision.
• Prepare, deliver, and charge medications and IV admixtures.
• Restock ADC cabinets and par medications/IVs; assist with purchasing and repackaging.
• Train new personnel and perform related duties as assigned.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and the general direction of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for non-judgmental aspects of order review and entry; preparation, delivery, and charging of medication/IV's; restocking of ADC cabinets and par medications/IV 's; purchasing; repackaging; training of new personnel and performance of related duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

• 1+ year(s) hospital pharmacy experience including preparation of IV admixtures.
• Registered in Texas as a Pharmacy Technician
• Annual certification by PTCB preferred
• IV Therapy; ACPE IV certification required
• (PharmTech) Pharmacy Technician License
• High School Graduate / GED
• Must be able to type and perform dose calculations.
• Understands that failure to follow established SOP's for hazardous drugs could potentially lead to risk of adverse effects which may include but not limited to skin rashes, reproductive effects, chronic effects, and cancer.
