Job summary

Medical City Denton is seeking a Pharmacy Technician PRN to support hospital operations under pharmacist supervision. The role includes order review, IV preparation, delivery, charging medications, and restocking ADC cabinets.

The position requires Texas Pharmacy Technician registration, 1+ year hospital experience, and IV therapy certification; PTCB is preferred. A high school diploma or GED is required, with strong dose calculation skills and SOP adherence.

Qualifications

• 1+ year hospital pharmacy experience including IV admixture prep.
• Registered in Texas as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Annual certification by PTCB preferred.
• IV Therapy; ACPE IV certification required.
• Pharmacy Technician license (PharmTech).
• High School Graduate / GED.
• Must be able to type and perform dose calculations.
• Follow SOPs for hazardous drugs to minimize risk.

Responsibilities

• Review and enter orders under supervision of a pharmacist and Pharmacy Director.
• Prepare, deliver, and charge medications/IVs; restock ADC cabinets and par medications/IVs.
• Handle purchasing, repackaging, and training of new personnel.
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and the general direction of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for non-judgmental aspects of order review and entry; preparation, delivery, and charging of medication/IV’s; restocking of ADC cabinets and par medications/IV ‘s; purchasing; repackaging; training of new personnel and performance of related duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

• 1+ year(s) hospital pharmacy experience including preparation of IV admixtures.

• Registered in Texas as a Pharmacy Technician

• Annual certification by PTCB preferred

• IV Therapy; ACPE IV certification required

• (PharmTech) Pharmacy Technician License

• High School Graduate / GED

• Must be able to type and perform dose calculations.

• Understands that failure to follow established SOP’s for hazardous drugs could potentially lead to risk of adverse effects which may include but not limited to skin rashes, reproductive effects, chronic effects, and cancer.
