Job summary

Medical City Denton, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support non-judgmental order review, preparation, delivery and charging of medications, including IV admixtures. Responsibilities include restocking cabinets and assisting with purchasing and training new staff.

Qualified candidates will have 1+ year hospital pharmacy experience, Texas licensure as a Pharmacy Technician, and preferably PTCB certification.

Qualifications

• 1+ year hospital pharmacy experience including IV admixtures.
• Registered in Texas as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Annual PTCB certification preferred.
• IV Therapy preferred; may obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Pharmacy Technician License (PharmTech).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must type and perform dose calculations.
• Comply with SOPs for hazardous drugs to mitigate risks.

Responsibilities

• Review and entry of medication orders under supervision.
• Prepare, deliver, and charge medications/IVs.
• Restock ADC cabinets and medications/IVs.
• Assist with purchasing and repackaging.
• Train new personnel and perform related duties.

8 PM - 6 AM weekdays

6 PM - 6 AM Saturday and Sunday

(7 days on / 7 days off)

Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and the general direction of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for non-judgmental aspects of order review and entry; preparation, delivery, and charging of medication/IV’s; restocking of ADC cabinets and par medications/IV ‘s; purchasing; repackaging; training of new personnel and performance of related duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

• 1+ year(s) hospital pharmacy experience including preparation of IV admixtures.
• Registered in Texas as a Pharmacy Technician
• Annual certification by PTCB preferred
• IV Therapy preferred. May obtain within 90 days of hire
• (PharmTech) Pharmacy Technician License
• High School Graduate / GED
• Must be able to type and perform dose calculations.
• Understands that failure to follow established SOP’s for hazardous drugs could potentially lead to risk of adverse effects which may include but not limited to skin rashes, reproductive effects, chronic effects, and cancer.
