Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacy Technician within 60 days of license application (IDFPR).
• Certified Pharmacy Technician not required for student pharmacist or licensed before 1/1/2008 (Exempt).
• Certified Pharmacy Technician within 2 years of license issue date (IL).
• Work Experience: 1 year of Retail pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient information accurately into the pharmacy computer system (address, phone, allergies, DOB).
• Enter medication information including meds, strength, route, refills and physician name.
• Prioritize stat and waiting prescriptions; maintain low entry error rates.
• Fill orders with correct medication; verify NDC with Rx label; pharmacist checks work.
• Assist in inventory, returns, recalls, and patient counseling with a pharmacist present.
