Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Registry on the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as Registered or Certified Technician within hire period.
• Sound interpersonal, decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Good listening, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to determine dosages using basic pharmaceutical calculations.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Selects appropriate drug, verifying NDC number and assists with ordering to maintain inventory.
• Counts with accuracy and double counts all controlled medications, preparing orders for final checks.
• Selects packaging, restocks as needed, and applies labels neatly.
• Uses professional telephone etiquette and communicates with patients and staff.
• Uses pharmacy computer system to ensure accurate patient profiles and billing information.
• Takes direction from the pharmacist in charge and prioritizes workload.
