Job summary

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Registry on the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as one of: Registered Technician, Certified Technician, or Technician Trainee.
• Strong interpersonal, decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Good listening, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to determine dosages using basic pharmaceutical calculations.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Selects appropriate drug, verifying NDC number and assisting with ordering to maintain inventory.
• Counts and double counts all controlled medications, preparing orders for final checks.
• Selects packaging, restocks, and applies labels neatly.
• Uses pharmacy computer system to maintain accurate patient profiles and billing information.
• Refers drug questions or complex issues to pharmacist in charge.
• Completes monthly pharmacy technician continuing education.
