Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations, and company policies.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist with pharmacy operations, including coaching other technicians and cashiers if PTCB certified.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members to deliver excellent service, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, following all relevant policies and procedures.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and managing workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding dispensing and quality improvement.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
• Support inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
• Assist in clinical services and coordinate with healthcare providers and external clinics.
• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy environment.
• Follow all company policies and maintain respectful coworker relationships.
• Complete assigned tasks and special projects as needed.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state certification/registration; certification is required for promotion to senior technician.
• Attend training sessions and acquire continuing education credits to stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
