This apprenticeship helps you become a certified Pharmacy Technician through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), maintaining high standards in pharmacy care and advancing your career with a portable, nationally recognized credential.

Whether you're new or experienced, Walgreens will train you to serve and care for our patients and customers. Our training program includes courses, activities, and resources to prepare you for certification and a career in pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist, under supervision, in pharmacy practice, following state and federal regulations and company policies.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist with pharmacy operations, including coaching other technicians if certified.
• Deliver excellent customer service, resolving issues and building relationships.

Operational Tasks

• Support pharmacy operations under supervision, including data entry, prescription filling, verifying medications, and managing inventory.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to all safety policies.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and support clerical duties.
• Support clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification and participate in ongoing training.
• Maintain proficiency in English, and be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Preferred: Six months retail experience, prior Walgreens experience, good math and computer skills, and PTCB certification.
