Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. Assist in other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers.
3. Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients, greet them, and offer assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under supervision, ensuring compliance with all policies and regulations.
• Perform duties like entering patient and drug info, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies related to pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
• Support inventory management and maintain knowledge of asset protection techniques.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Build and maintain relationships with the local medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Ensure the pharmacy environment is stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Follow all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete special assignments as needed.

Training & Personal Development

• Maintain PTCB certification through training and continuing education. Certification may be required for promotion.
• Attend training sessions and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy news.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
