Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers.
3. Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients, greet them, and offer assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure satisfaction.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to error and quality policies.
• Maintain accurate sales registration, handle cash, and assist customers in locating products.
• Process third-party claims and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Build relationships with the medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy.
• Follow all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete any additional tasks as assigned.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the training program and/or state certification, with promotion contingent upon certification.
• Attend training and acquire continuing education credits to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
