Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations, company policies, and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist with pharmacy operations, including coaching other pharmacy technicians and cashiers if PTCB certified.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practices under pharmacist supervision, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding dispensing and quality improvement.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process claims for third-party prescription services.
• Support inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Maintain good relationships with the medical community and support pharmacy maintenance and cleanliness.
• Complete assigned tasks and support the pharmacy team as needed.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state certification/registration.
• Attend training sessions, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
