Minimum Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support other Pharmacy Department duties following company policies and procedures.
2. Utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy system operation and cash register use.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Greet customers and patients, offer assistance, resolve issues, and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits, to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and pharmacy codes of conduct.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies related to pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
• Support inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and handle related claims for discrepancies.
• Assist in administering clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with the local medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Ensure the pharmacy environment is stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Follow all policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete assigned tasks and special projects as needed.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and/or state certification; certification is required for promotion to senior technician.
• Attend training sessions and acquire continuing education credits to stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
