Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations, and assist with other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in system operation.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members to deliver excellent service, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Enter patient and drug info accurately, fill prescriptions, verify medicines, and check for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies related to pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
• Follow Good Faith Dispensing policies during prescription activities.
• Register sales, handle cash, and assist customers in locating products.
• Handle calls not requiring pharmacist attention, including calls to physicians.
• Process third-party claims and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Develop relationships with the medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy environment.
• Follow all policies, maintain respectful relationships, and complete assigned tasks.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state certification. Certification is a condition for promotion to senior technician.
• Attend training, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
