Job summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the department in providing quality pharmaceutical care. Responsibilities include procuring, preparing, packaging, distributing, and disposing medications under pharmacist supervision, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with USP/DEA/FDA guidelines.

Ideal candidates will have ASHP‑accredited technician training, CPhT certification, and Georgia registration; willingness to work rotating shifts and weekends; and strong

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • ASHP accredited technician training program completed or enrollment preferred.
  • 6 months experience as Pharmacy Technician or completion of ASHP-accredited program preferred.
  • Current CPhT certification through PTCB or NHA and active Georgia Pharmacy Technician registration, or enrollment in accredited School of Pharmacy with Georgia Pharmacy Intern license.
  • Must maintain certification and registration through entire length of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Procures, prepares, packages, distributes and disposes medications and pharmaceutical supplies under supervision.
  • Maintains inventory and re-orders supplies to ensure availability.
  • Follows USP, DEA, and FDA guidelines for repackaging and compounding.
  • Operates and maintains departmental automation and equipment.
  • Ensures product verification and timely distribution of medications.
  • Maintains patient records and profiles, including charging and credits.
  • Responds to customer needs by answering calls and triaging requests.
  • Participates in orientation and training of new personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
